Liturgy, Reflection & Benediction 2024.12.01

Liturgy

Close your eyes . . .
Try to remember . . .
A deep breath . . .
A first step . . .
Lord, In a time where magic has lost its meaning
Let us hope for a world that widens
In a time where stories must be sound bytes
Let us hope for a world that deepens
In a time where even change is changing
Let us hope for a world that holds fast
As we open our eyes to see through the dark,
Let us not forget the magic of your birth
Your beautiful exhale, your divine breeze
That leads us, step by step by step
Our embodied hope is guided by you
God, our birthing mother
Jesus, your mysterious son
Spirit, our first step
Amen

Scripture

We invite you to hear from the book of Psalms 25:1-10

1 To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. 2 O my God, in you I trust; do not let
me be put to shame; do not let my enemies exult over me. 3 Do not let
those who wait for you be put to shame; let them be ashamed who are
wantonly treacherous. 4 Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me
your paths. 5 Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of
my salvation; for you I wait all day long.
6 Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and of your steadfast love, for they
have been from of old. 7 Do not remember the sins of my youth or my
transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the
sake of your goodness, O Lord! 8 Good and upright is the Lord; therefore
God instructs sinners in the way. 9 God leads the humble in what is right
and teaches the humble God’s way. 10 All the paths of the Lord are
steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep God’s covenant and
decrees.

The Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God!
The grass withers and the flower fades,
but the Word of the Lord endures forever. Amen.

Benediction

And now, we wait.
We wait for grace
We wait for peace
We wait for hope
We wait for love
We wait for truth
We wait for forgiveness
We wait for you
May there be beauty in the waiting
In the name of God, our Mother
Jesus, Her son,
And the Holy Spirit, Her calming whisper
Amen
