Liturgy, Reflection and Benediction 2018.09.30

Liturgy

Faithful God, we come into your presence
with thanksgiving, deeply grateful for the
unfailing love and faithfulness you have
shown toward us, your people.

When we call out to you, you answer.
When we are exhausted, you give us
the strength to go on. When we find
ourselves in trouble, you are there,
standing beside us.

And so we come before you with
gratitude and praise, offering you
the awe of our hearts and lives.

Open our eyes to see and know
you here among us; open our ears
to recognize your voice.

in the name of our faithful God,
of our loving Savior,
and the Holy Spirit, our Advocate and Guide.
Amen.

Community Confession

Lord, you are always with us.
You surround us with goodness.
Your love is a mystery.

But we hunger for certainty,
and exhaust ourselves in search of
what we already have in abundance.

Open our eyes, God, to see
that we have everything in You.

Lord, you have invited us to give up the
weight of our performing in exchange
for the lightness of your complete gift.
We are known and loved by you.

Teach us to practice compassion for
ourselves and others. And in doing so,
may we find an ocean of peace and
gratitude in our hearts and in our homes.

We ask in the name
of the Father,
of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Sermon and Reflection

Sermon Podcast 9.30.18 – Grateful

How has God healed us?

How does contentment work in my life?

What does it mean that God’s love is steadfast and expansive?

Benediction

Go freely from here as your true selves and as
witnesses of what you have seen and heard.
Share God’s love with all you meet.
Bring hope to those who are in despair.

Live lives of gratitude and praise, and may the
love of God, the peace of Jesus Christ, and the
ongoing presence of the Holy Spirit be within
you and among you until we meet again.

Go forth, resting and serving
in the love of the Father,
of the Risen Son,
and of the Holy Spirit,
Amen.

Go in peace and live the church.
See you throughout the week.
