Liturgy Reflection & Benediction 07.05.2015

Liturgy

Here in this place, there are
no foreigners and no strangers.
No outcasts and none rejected, for
all are welcome in the house of God.

Here in our worship, may there
be only acceptance, for Christ’s
love is our language of faith.

Here in our lives, let there be no divisions,
for God dwells in each of us, his Holy Spirit
interceding and guiding us toward a better
way to live in community.

So let us join in community
and worship in unity and love,
praising the name
of the Father,
of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Community Confession

Our God, pray to you.

Praise be to you, O God, the Father:
You created all things by your power
and wisdom, and so loved the world
that you gave your Son to be our Savior.

Praise be to you, O God, the Son:
You became human like us in all things,
except sin, died for our offenses, and
rose again for our justification.

Praise be to you, O God, the Holy Spirit:
You lead us into all truth and spread
the love of God in our hearts.

And yet, we often don’t see you
and accept you for who you are.
We forget you, reject your teachings,
neglect your word or mold you into
something less than you are.

Forgive us Lord for our sins.
Help us to see you and to
know you more fully.

Fill us with the vision of your
glory, that we may always
serve and praise you.

We pray in the name
of the Father,
of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit,
amen.

Sermon and Reflection

Sermon Podcast 7.05.15 – Rejection

When has God been something you have not expected? How have you been disappointed or even offended?
How does God use those who are least expected?
How is faith built and developed in community versus individually?

Benediction

Go forth with confidence this week,
and wherever people will hear you,
proclaim the life-changing love of God.

Do not fear your weakness, for when you
are weakest, Christ’s strength is known.
Travel lightly, live simply, and honor those
who welcome the gospel.

May God be your protection and safe haven;
may the power of Christ Jesus dwell in you;
and may the Holy Spirit be your guide forever.

We pray in the name
of the Father,
of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Go in peace and live the church.
See you throughout the week.
