Liturgy
God of spiritual orphans and seekers, comfort our hearts.
Like the disciples before us, we often wrestle
with the confusing ache of your absence.
After 2000 years of ascension, we yearn for a voice
that reaches through clouds to speak again.
Once a man from Nazareth who healed, wept, and laughed,
we’ve molded you into a thousand different dogmas for our own motives.
Free us to follow the wild, untamed paths of the Spirit,
who moves beyond boundaries
and shows us the ever-widening mercy of God.
Help us receive your promise of Peace,
not as a scarce resource,
but as a gift that is born anew each moment.
We lean into the hope of your presence,
not because of unshakeable evidence,
but because of the gentle whisper within
which longs for the redemption
of all that is good, beautiful, and true.
We pray this in the name of
God our Creator,
Christ our humble teacher,
And the Holy Spirit, our Advocate and Guide
Amen

Scripture
We invite you to hear from the Gospel according to John 14:18-19, 25-27
18 “I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you. 19 In a little while
the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you
also will live.
25 “I have said these things to you while I am still with you. 26 But the
Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will
teach you everything and remind you of all that I have said to you. 27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the
world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be
afraid.”
The Good News of the Lord.
Thanks be to God!
The grass withers and the flower fades,
but the Word of the Lord endures forever. Amen.

Benediction
Hand-in-hand we labor, rest, and play.
Each one of us offering a unique perspective;
Like a thousand different facets on God’s gleaming gem.
We’ve gathered from all walks of life;
some of us born into this tradition and others finding
our way from unconventional paths.
Though we’ve been wounded along the journey,
how beautiful to have found each other on the way.
Whatever questions, doubts, and wonders fill our week,
know that we are not alone on the road of healing.
There is no timeline for our walk together;
there is no rush in the search.
All paces are welcome, all strides are good.
Go in the name of
The God who labors,
The Christ who rests,
And the Holy Spirit, our playful companion
Amen
