Liturgy, Reflection and Benediction 2020.09.06

Liturgy

Beloved, gather today and
know that God is living in you,

For when you opened your eyes this morning,
it was the Spirit who roused you. When you
first saw light of day it was the Son.

In living and breathing right now,
be reminded that our God is.

This morning, may we open our hearts and
receive the love that wakes us at dawn, the
same love that also woke Christ.

We ask this in the name
of our God,
the resurrected Son,
and the Spirit within.
Amen.

Scripture Reading

We invite you to hear from a reading in Romans 13:8-10.

8 Owe no one anything, except to love one another;
for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.

9 The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery;
You shall not murder; You shall not steal; You shall not covet”;
and any other commandment, are summed up in this word,

“Love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no wrong
to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.

The Good News of the Lord.
Thanks be to God!

The grass withers and the flower fades,
but the Word of the Lord endures forever. Amen.

Sermon and Reflection

Sermon Podcast 9.06.20 – Debt of Love

How do I live in the debt of love I’m never meant to repay?

Where do I sense invitation into the love that liberates this week?

Benediction

Vox, we love our Lord so imperfectly,
and it is enough. Like Christ, when we
trust in this grace and live our lives
in God’s love, that love awakens us.

Side by side in our own perfect path, may
we love our way through this slumber and
rise together as the body of Christ.

Go forth this week
in the name of our loving God,
Three in One.
Amen.
