Our God is the God of all,
The God of heaven and earth,
Of the sea and of the rivers;
The God of the sun and of the moon and of all the stars;
The God of the lofty mountains and of the lowly valleys.

He has his dwelling around heaven and earth,
and sea, and all that in them is his.
He inspires all, gives life to all,
He reigns over and supports all.
He lights the light of the sun,
and furnishes the light of the night.

He is the God above heaven,
and in heaven, and under heaven.

Lord, be with us this day,
Within us to purify us;
Above us to draw us up;
Beneath us to sustain us;
Before us to lead us;
Behind us to restrain us;
Around us to protect us.

We pray in the name of the Father,
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Congregational Prayer

In prayer, let us confess to God as a community.

Lord God, Creator of all,
You have spoken to us but we have shut out your voice.

Your Spirit convicts us of our sin and our brokenness,
But we have tried to drown you out with the noise of this world.

We would rather hear our own name praised
among men rather than the name of Jesus.

We prefer telling people about our petty accomplishments
rather than speaking of your righteousness.

Lord, forgive us. Correct us.
Build in us a longing for your comforting voice.

Give us a thirst for your satisfying Word.
Give us joy in speaking your truth
into our own lives.

May we be faithful stewards,
and humbly seek your guidance,
God in community, holy in One.
Amen.

Reflection

How can we be a place that cherishes questions?
How can questions lead us to transformation?

Benediction

You are a chosen people.
You are royal priests, a holy nation,

God’s very own possession,
in order that you might show others the goodness of God,
who has called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Go from this place in confidence,
knowing that the presence and the power of God go with you,

and live this week in the name of the Father,
of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
