UPDATE: As you all probably know, the update below was indeed our attempts at an April Fools joke. For those of you who side-stepped the prank, good for you. For those who didn’t … APRIL FOOLS!! Until next year, my friends.
Due to the rushed nature of yesterday’s newsletter, we unfortunately forgot to include a few other important announcements. We apologize for flooding you with even more silly messages, but hopefully you will forgive us. Here’s the announcements we forgot to include.
[Limited Parking This Sunday]
In yesterday’s newsletter, we mentioned the easter egg hunt and the picnic, but failed to mention that we will be closing off a section of the parking lot to allow for these two events to happen without roadkill being a byproduct. If you could, please carpool or bike to Vox this Sunday. Or if you’re looking for a reason to use the new Metro Rail, perhaps this Sunday would be the perfect time to do so as there is a station nearby Space 12. Thanks for your cooperation, and we apologize for the inconvenience.
[Teaching Team Update]
As many of you know, we have just completed our teaching series on Lent where each neighborhood took turns in preparing a group sermon. After gathering feedback from many people in the community regarding this teaching approach, there was a resounding agreement that it was probably one of the best experiences at Vox. In response to this unanimous outcry, we have decided that team teaching through neighborhoods will replace individual sermon preparations at Vox. There will be more details to come, but in the mean time, if you have any questions or concerns, please send them to [email protected].
[Global Initiative Update]
Whether it’s partnering with communities in India, Ethiopia or Afghanistan, coming along side the Global Church and caring for her people has, and always will be an unquenchable passion within the heart of Vox. In remaining faithful to our desires of expand our global partnerships, we are excited to announce a new global partnership with a community in Nigeria that shows amazing promise for life change through micro-loans.
Several weeks ago, one of ours global partners in India put us in contact with foreign nationals in Nigeria who has ties to the federal Government. They recently provided us with details on a truly ground breaking business plan that would not only help those who are in desperate need of generosity and kindness, but would in turn be an investment for the Vox community. Although we are unable to fully divulge the details on this new global initiative, the staff, Nav Team and Global team have all agree to fully support this new initiative by diverting funds to get this new global Nigerian partnership off the ground.
We will have more details available later, but in the mean time, we would all ask that you pray for this new Nigerian partnership, along with all the other amazing global partnerships we are currently working with. If you have any questions or concerns, please send them to [email protected].
