[Vox News] National Panini Month Edition

Griddle marks on your burgers and steaks? Thumbs up fo sho!! But griddle marks on your sandwich? You’ve gotta be kidding, right? If you’ve never had a panini, then you have yet to live life, my friends. Whether you’re a meat eater of vegetarian, getting a prosciutto and fig spread sandwich or PB & J grilled only enhances your delightfully decadent delicatessen dining experience.

[Sunday Liturgy]
Our Sunday Liturgy is at 11:00 AM at Space 12 (3121 East 12th Street). One of our global partners from East Asia will be joining us this Sunday, so please join us as we hear more about what’s going on around the world and how the generosity of the community has been sources of change through our global partnerships.

[Summer Hoods]
This summer, our neighborhood groups will be meeting by life stage on different days.

Students/Professionals – Tuesdays @ 7pm [email]
Marrieds – Wednesday @ 7pm [email]
Families – Saturday @ 11am [email]

Feel free to plug into the appropriate group during the week and get a chance to talk and interact with people who are dealing with similar challenges. Email us for more info or check out our map for locations of each group.

[Ex:Change]
Last year, we held our first ever yard sale at Space12 called Ex:Change. We had lots of people from the neighborhood come out to buy things that were donated by the community as well as eat some great BBQ. This year, we plan on doing it again on August 29th, where all proceeds will be going towards a computer learning center at Space12. A storage unit has been delivered to Space12 that will hold all donated items, so if you have any toys, clothes, furniture, appliances or electronics that are in good working condition, we’d love for you to donate it towards Ex:Change. For all drop offs of items, please bring it to Space12 during the following times:

Tuesday-Friday: 12pm-6pm
Sunday: Before and after Vox
Or by appointment: (please email Stephen)

If you have any questions, please contact Stephen To or check out the details on facebook.

[Getting Involved with Vox]
Have you always wanted to get more involved with Vox but haven’t known how? Do you have a passion or vision for something that Vox isn’t currently involved in? If you answered YES to either of these questions, then this is for you!! We would love to help you get more involved with what’s happening in the Vox community, as well as come along side your passion and vision to help it leave the dream realm and give it life. If this at all interests you, please let us know by sending us an email.

[East Side Living Opportunity]
Vox has been entrusted with a couple houses on the East Side, one of which is currently available starting September 1st. We are currently looking for people (singles as well as marrieds) who are interested in living on the East Side and interested in exploring the idea of intentional community. If you’re interested, please send us an email.

[Global Fundraiser]
In a couple weeks, a fundraiser to help send someone from our community overseas will be held at Space 12. This fundraiser will include a meal you will be photo blogging (or phlogging) about for years to come. You can put your name on a signup sheet this Sunday at Vox, or RSVP on facebook. (Yea, it’s gonna be THAT baller). If you have any questions or would like to donate to this global fundraiser, please send us an email.

[Won’t You Be My Friend?]
Hi, my name is Vox Veniae. I’m 3 years old, very friendly, and housebroken. I would like to be friends with you!! I promise to not Zombie bite you, nor will I ask you to join my kingdom. I just want to be your friend because that will make me happy. To add me as your friend, click here.

[BYOM – Bring Your Own Mug]
Because food is such a great catalyst for community, we plan to have delectable edibles and drinkables available every Sunday morning during our liturgies. Although it would be easy to buy disposable cups for the drinks, we want to be an environmentally conscious community and ask that everyone bring their own mug. This way, you’ll not only feel more at home, but we can all do our part in reducing unnecessary waste.

[Rides to Vox]
If you live on campus and are in need of a ride on Sunday morning to join us for Liturgy, please email us and we’ll hook you up. If you could send an email by 11pm on Friday, that would be greatly appreciated.
