[Vox News] National Aviation Week Edition

Paper airplanes. Bottle rockets. Michael Jordan. What do all three of these have in common? If you guessed ‘things that fly’, you are WIN!!! In recognition of National Aviation Week, dust off your old R. Kelly CD and start flipping that propeller on your cap while dreaming of the day we can buy tickets to visit Mars. If that’s not your cup ‘o tea, book a ticket to Ohio and visit the Birthplace of Aviation.

[Sunday Liturgy]
Our Sunday Liturgy is at 11:00 AM at Space 12 (3121 East 12th Street). Join us as we kick off our new season at Vox as we cast vision for this upcoming year. Whether you’re new to Vox or are seasoned Voxite, this series is for you!!

[Summer Hoods]
A huge thanks to everyone who participated in our summer neighborhoods, and an extra special kudos to all those who generously gave their time as neighborhoods coordinators. Fall neighborhoods will be starting in the very near future. More details to come, but in the mean time, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email us.

[Ex:Change]
Last year, we held our first ever yard sale at Space12 called Ex:Change. We had lots of people from the neighborhood come out to buy things that were donated by the community as well as eat some great BBQ. This year, we plan on doing it again on August 29th, where all proceeds will be going towards a computer learning center at Space12. A storage unit has been delivered to Space12 that will hold all donated items, so if you have any toys, clothes, furniture, appliances or electronics that are in good working condition, we’d love for you to donate it towards Ex:Change. For all drop offs of items, please bring it to Space12 during the following times:

Tuesday-Friday: 12pm-6pm
Sunday: Before and after Vox
Or by appointment: (please email Stephen)

If you have any questions, please contact Stephen To or check out the details on facebook.

[Getting Involved with Vox]
Have you always wanted to get more involved with Vox but haven’t known how? Do you have a passion or vision for something that Vox isn’t currently involved in? If you answered YES to either of these questions, then this is for you!! We would love to help you get more involved with what’s happening in the Vox community, as well as come along side your passion and vision to help it leave the dream realm and give it life. If this at all interests you, please let us know by sending us an email.

[Global Fundraiser]
This past Sunday, one of our own, Evan Wilson, gave an update on his plans to move to Central Asia. A fundraiser will be happening this Saturday, and although signups are closed, financial contributions are welcome. If you missed the signup or would like to contribute, please send an email to Evan.

[ECC Feedback]
A few weeks ago, we had a Q&A session regarding the possibility of having Vox join the denomination called Evangelical Covenant Church. If you have any questions or feedback about Vox joining the ECC, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to email your questions or comments to us.

[Won’t You Be My Friend?]
Hi, my name is Vox Veniae. I’m 3 years old, very friendly, and housebroken. I would like to be friends with you!! I promise to not Zombie bite you, nor will I ask you to join my kingdom. I just want to be your friend because that will make me happy. To add me as your friend, click here.

[BYOM – Bring Your Own Mug]
Because food is such a great catalyst for community, we plan to have delectable edibles and drinkables available every Sunday morning during our liturgies. Although it would be easy to buy disposable cups for the drinks, we want to be an environmentally conscious community and ask that everyone bring their own mug. This way, you’ll not only feel more at home, but we can all do our part in reducing unnecessary waste.

[Rides to Vox]
If you live on campus and are in need of a ride on Sunday morning to join us for Liturgy, please email us and we’ll hook you up. If you could send an email by 11pm on Friday, that would be greatly appreciated.
