What if meaningful prayer is learning to relax in the presence of one who not only loves us but also likes us – perhaps it’s learning to just be with God?
Many have learned forms of prayer that involve being active and lots of words. While these are still meaningful forms or prayer, the other half of prayer is passive and can be described by the following terms: attentive listening, making space for God’s spirit to break up what’s stuck in us and help it move through us, resting in God’s loving gaze, and divine therapy.
We hope you can join us for a time of introduction to the method of Centering Prayer through some teaching and times of practicing the prayer together.
