Merry Christmas from Ecuador

Last year, we partnered with Chris and Jenny Hoskins through our denomination, the Evangelical Covenant Church, to support their missionary work with pastoral care in Ecuador. If you’d like to learn more about the Hoskins, there are a few resources below.

We just wanted to take a moment to thank you again for all of your support and encouragement over this past year. At times it feels like we have been back in Ecuador forever and there are other days when it feels like we have just arrived. Transitions always come with a mixed bag of emotions and challenges, and we continue to experience it all. It is of great comfort to us and of great support to know that we have you and your community to journey with us.

We have attached a PDF of our Christmas card in case you want to add it into a newsletter, a bulletin or share elsewhere. We appreciate you passing along our greeting and thanks to your community.

This Advent season has felt heavy in many ways. Personally we are missing friends and family, known traditions and the cold and snow! We are grieving for the division present in our home nation, the unending violence on black and brown bodies, the refugee crisis in Syria and unending needs we see in our everyday. Praying that we can creatively spur each other on in this new year in the mission of God’s radically inclusive kingdom and be bearers of this Good News in the places that we find ourselves. We pray for strength and courage, for faith and for trust.

Peace,
The Hoskins
