Narwaffle Posada Party

Vox has committed to hosting monthly birthday parties for residents of Posada Esperanza, a local housing program for immigrant women and children. We are still looking for hosts for the upcoming months, so if you or your midweek group is interested, please email us.

Vox youth, self-described “Narwafflers,” hosted the January Posada birthday party. Here’s what some of the Narwafflers had to say about their experience:

“It was fun, I want to do it again. We brought Subway sandwiches. I liked meeting the kids and they had a lot of fun. We played soccer. Other people should go and do this because it will make the kids at Posada Esperanza feel good that they got to have a birthday party and presents.” – Jordan

“The Posada party was awesome. We helped make ballons at first, which eventually were all popped by this awesome, funny kid. Then we played some freeze tag with all of them. We had a lot of fun playing toilet tag the next round. That’s when if you get tagged, you become a toilet. (kneeling position w/ arm outstretched) someone has to sit on you and flush you hand/handle, then you’re unfrozen. After that we played duck, duck, goose with some of the younger ones, and the older ones played soccer with David and Bryan. Later, we served sandwiches, drinks, cookies. we played some more, the birthday kids opened their presents, and we had fun with some bubbles. They were a load of fun to play with. People at Vox should help out because it’s a lot of fun, and they would normally not be able to have a birthday party if we couldn’t help.” – Joshua
