Do you have a delicious bread pudding recipe floating around in that kitchen of yours? Is it one that you have securely hidden away under heavy guard and is more closely guarded than the KFC’s original fried chicken recipe or McDonald’s special sauce? If so, this month is for you to quit hoarding that beautiful index card containing the directions to bread pudding bliss and allow the world to savor this delight after-dinner treat. If you can imagine biting into a delicious morsel of milk soaked bread with tiny nuggets of raisins exploding in your mouth intermittently between bites, then it’s time to dust off that recipe box, warm up the oven, and get ready to bake up a batch of bread pudding goodness and prepare for a one way ticket to sweet tooth bliss.
[Dunking Party ’10]
Next Sunday, May 16th, we will be having a baptism celebration at Fiesta Garden’s to celebrate the decisions of several people in our community who will be publicly declaring their decision to follow Jesus Christ. In addition to having the baptism, we plan on having a community picnic chock full of food and games, so please bring a blanket and a lunch and join us for a beautiful afternoon celebrating Jesus, and the decisions of our friends who will be getting baptized.
[Inside Books Volunteer Marathon]
One of the Space 12 partners is Inside Books, which is an amazing organization that sends donated books to prisoners in Texas penitentiary facilities who write letters to them requesting some reading material. This weekend starting on Friday, they will be having a Spring Work Party in hopes of trying to catch up on the hundreds of unanswered letters. There will be free coffee, free food and free music for your enjoyment, so if you would like to lend a hand doing something amazing, please stop by Space 12 during the following hours to participate in something beautiful.

[Sunday Liturgy]
Have you ever started a movie after missing the first few minutes? Did you wonder why the characters were acting the way they were? Were you lost in the story? The prologue of a narrative help us to understand why things are the way they are. Join us this Sunday as we continue our series on the opening chapters of Genesis called Prologue. As part of our journey with Christ, Baptism plays a beautiful part of the growth and maturity process of faith. On May 16th, we plan on having a Baptism celebration for all who are interested an are in the process of preparing Baptism classes which will begin in the very near future. Spring Neighborhoods is in full swing, friends!! We would love to invite everyone to plug into a neighborhood this year and live the church with those around you. [Lost and Found]
No, we’re not referring to the band whose song ‘Lions’ features the slinky as a percussion instrument. We’re referring to the bin of unclaimed goodies and homeless artifacts located next to the water cooler by the bar at Space12. If you think you may have left something at Space12, chances are it’s been put into the lost and found bin. At the end of each month, we plan on donating the contents of the lost and found bin, so please check to make sure you haven’t misplaced anything you don’t mind passing along to those who can use it.

[Reading Recommendations]
Recently, we finished our conversation through Paul’s letter to the Romans and discussed Paul’s reference to the Roman community as, “complete in knowledge and competent to instruct one another” (15:14). The word ‘complete‘ was often used in the ancient world as a sailing term, whenever the wind would fill (complete) the sail and propel the boat towards the open seas. In the same way, our hope is to become a community where our knowledge propels us to where God is moving in the world. As a tool to help us move in this direction, we compiled a list of suggested readings which can be found here.

You might be wondering what this acronym stands for. Well, allow me to spill the beans!! WYOMP stands for ‘Wash Your Own Mugs, Please ‘. One of the new perks of having our liturgy at Space12 is the plethora of mugs and drinking utensils at our disposal. Unfortunately, when the liturgy is over and the snacks are all consumed, the once clean cups are left dirty and all alone in the sink. If you could, after you have finished enjoying the delightful snacks and beverages, please lend a hand with washing the mugs and drinkware. That would be greatly appreciated.
