[Haiti News] Initial Update

To our Vox community,

With deep sadness and compassion, we have been closely following the tragedy in Haiti and prayerfully considering how we can best respond as the Vox community. We have chosen to work with our partner, ServLife and are looking to help out in these following ways:

1. Resources: Many have been asking who they should donate funds to. Servelife is an organization seasoned in disaster relief having been on the front lines in Thailand during the 2004 Tsunami. You can find their Haiti strategy here and please support them via their donation page.

2. Scouting: We are setting up a scouting team that will go to Haiti with Servlife in the coming weeks to help set up their response in Port Au Prince. Please keep this trip in prayer and stay tuned for updates.

3. MED Packs: In addition to connecting medical professionals to those in dire need of medical attention, ServLife is looking to put together emergency packs consisting of vital medications such as antibiotics, IV bags, bandages and other essential medications needed to care for the wounded. If you would like to contribute towards one of these packs, you can find details here.

4. Long-term support: Our prayer is to send a team from Vox to support ServLife’s three tiered response as soon as possible. If you are interested, please contact Gideon.

And finally, we would encourage each of you to continue to pray for those affected by this tragedy. The number displaced, deceased and disillusioned continue to rise by the minute, so may we continue to pray for those who are trapped amidst the devastation, as well as pray for those who are on the ground working tirelessly to care for the sick, the wounded and the orphaned.

Psalm 9:18 But the needy will not always be forgotten,
nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish.
