On this World Toilet Day, we pay homage to the vestibule of comfort and purification. To some, it’s a porcelain safe haven and protector of all things relaxing and private. For others, it’s a cesspool of disease and offensive odors that should be quarantined and avoided at all costs. Whether you have respect or repugnance for this creation of convenience, the next time you mollycoddle yourself on the Shatner, think about this: indoor plumbing and proper sanitation is actually a luxury that an estimated 2.6 billion people do not have. Around the world, people are forced to evacuate in their drinking water or bathe with sewage, thus leading to epidemics and illnesses that make the swine flu look like a domesticated house kitten. With a sanitation crisis littering the global landscape, let us stand in solidarity with those around the world who do not know the terms ‘flush’ or ‘put the seat down’. And on this day, with each passing flip of the toilet flapper, may we draw closer to bringing an end to preventable diseases from the lack of sanitation. [Sunday Liturgy]
As the saying goes, When in Rome, do as the Romans do. How did the Romans live? How did the church connect to its surroundings? Why did Paul address specific issues that he did? As this letter changed Rome and greats such as Augustine and Luther, may it change us and our city. Join us as we wrap up our conversation this semester through the epic letter of Romans. Our Sunday Liturgy is at 11:00 AM at Space 12 (3121 East 12th Street).
[Special Sunday Requests]
This next week will be the final weekend of E.A.S.T. If you haven’t gotten a chance to explore the amazing art at Space12, we highly encourage you to peruse around and take it all in. We encourage you to ride your bike to Space12, as E.A.S.T. is a very bike friendly event. There is a high probability that people will be biking from tour stop to tour stop, so come with your wheels, so you can join that E.A.S.T. caravan.
Finally, to help things transition smoothly from Liturgy to E.A.S.T., we plan on starting and ending on time. In order to do this, we request that everyone tries to arrive on time and lend an extra hand in putting away chairs and rearranging the space for E.A.S.T.

[WYOMP]
You might be wondering what this acronym stands for. Well, allow me to spill the beans!! WYOMP stands for ‘Wash Your Own Mugs, Please ‘. One of the new perks of having our liturgy at Space12 is the plethora of mugs and drinking utensils at our disposal. Unfortunately, when the liturgy is over and the snacks are all consumed, the once clean cups are left dirty and all alone in the sink. If you could, after you have finished enjoying the delightful snacks and beverages, please lend a hand with washing the mugs and drinkware. That would be greatly appreciated.
[Won’t You Be My Friend?]
Hi, my name is Vox Veniae, and this is my cousin Space 12. I’m 4 years old, and Space just turned one a little while ago. We’re very friendly, housebroken and love our bellies rubbed. We would like to be friends with you!! We promise to not Zombie bite you, nor will we ask you to join our kingdom. We just want to be your friend because that will make us happy. Click here to add Vox as a friend and here to add Space12 as a friend.
[Rides to Vox]
If you live on campus and are in need of a ride on Sunday morning to join us for Liturgy, please email us and we’ll hook you up. If you could send an email by 11pm on Friday, that would be greatly appreciated.
