Liturgy Reflection & Benediction 09.20.09

Liturgy
In my youth, I have borne the yoke.
Sat in silence.
My mouth to the dust.
A lone drop of rain cast far from your clouds.
We thank you, dearest Lord,
That in your abundant love,
You bring us together.
Brothers and sisters.
Raindrops once astray.
Alone, we are prone to weakness.
Prone to wander.
Prone to leave you.
But make us as one, O Lord,
And we are a raging river.
A mighty flood to cover this earth.
An earth baptized in your covenant,
In your all encompassing grace.
In the fullness of your grand design,
In your name.
Amen.

Reflection
Do you feel a sense of responsibility to Austin?

Are you a condemner, critic, consumer, copier, or creator?

What does good news mean to you?

What does it look like for your this week to be humbly excited about the gospel?

Benediction
We go, committed to care for one another
as you have cradled us in your love.

We leave, confident in your mercy
and courageous in our role within the city,
inspiring human souls,

that at the dawn of your grace,
our youthful lives
will be spent to love and serve you,

in the name of the Father, the Son
and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Go with the peace of Christ and live the church.
See you throughout the week.
