Liturgy Reflection & Benediction 08.02.09

Liturgy
Almighty God, we thank you for your past blessings.
Today we offer ourselves – whatever we do, say, or think –
to your loving care.

We make this morning offering in union
with the divine intentions of Jesus Christ
who offered himself up on a cross
that we may have life and live it to the fullest.

Continue to bless our community and where we live, Lord,
that we may be a sign of your generosity to our neighbors,
our city, our world.

We ask for your blessing, not that we may possess more,
but that we offer more abundantly of ourselves
to your kingdom here on Earth,

for you are in everyone we meet
and we acknowledge your presence with us in our daily lives.

Take this whole offering today and renew our souls,
in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Reflection
What does unity look like for you?

In what ways do you need others? What strength can you give others?

What has Christ brought together in your life that you could help mend? That you could help put back into the right condition?

How can we at Vox help each other and help you discover and develop your God given gifts?

Benediction
As we go from this place, may we take with us
your word and your Spirit that our faith offers us.

Here, we learn of and sing praises for your gift of life.
We declare that we will live as vessels receiving God’s radiant light.

From our eyes, may your light shine brightly
so that in the darkness we may see the needs of others.

Through our ears, may we hear beyond the noise of self-interest
to the calls for help from those in need.

May our hearts beat with compassion,
our arms be strong in reaching out
to lift up those who stumble.

We are sent in faith,
knowing you are peace,
you are justice,
you are grace.

We go in the name of the Father, the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Go with peace and live the church. See you during the week.
