What goes well with throwing a graduation party? Why, a killer game of lawn darts and bocce ball, of course!! Get out there, play some sweet games and hang with your neighbors, y’all!!
[Sunday Liturgy]
Our Sunday Liturgy is at 11:00 AM at Mosaic (5619 Airport Blvd). Join us as we wrap up our series entitled ‘Courage’, based upon the book of Joshua.
[Galveston, Recapped]
Several weeks ago, Vox sent a team to Galveston to lend a hand with cleaning up the mess Ike left in his wake. Join us this Sunday to hear from the team about what they did.
[Movin’ Like The Jeffersons]
You know the jingle…
Movin’ on up, to the East Side, to a deluxe apartment in the sky.
Movin’ on up, to the East Side, we finally got a piece of the pie.
That’s right!! Starting June 7th, Vox will begin having our Sunday morning Liturgies at Space 12 (3121 East 12th Street) at 11am. So it’ll be the same time, but different place. We’re really excited about this change of venue, and are looking forward to being a good neighbor to the community. As we begin the relocation process, there are a few things we wanted to make you all aware of.
1. New Chairs
We are on the receiving end of a plethora of new chairs!! Join us as we thank all the contributors for their generosity.
2. Carpool/Biking Encouraged
One of the challenges we will be facing/addressing is enough parking for the Vox community. To help alleviate this, we encourage you all to try carpooling or biking to Space 12.
3. Thank You, Mosaic!!
It has been a tremendous blessing to have shared a space with an amazing church community like Mosaic. Not only have they been extremely generous hosts, but a great source of encouragement and inspiration by modeling what it means to be the body of Christ in the city.
4. New Drive Way and Sweet A/C
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of scraping the bottom of your ride when entering or exiting Space12 or sweating buckets while hanging out inside the building, those are things of the past!! During your next stop to Space 12, come enjoy the beautifully conditioned air and the deliciously slanted driveway.
[Skillshare Austin May 30-31 at Space12]
On the last weekend in May, Skillshare Austin will be hosting it’s second annual weekend skillshare with 2 full days of workshops on the themes of transportation, sustainable urban homesteading, parenting/childcare, and arts/media, along with activities for kids. This is as Austin as it gets with people coming together to share ideas, resources, and trades all for the sake of sustainable urban living and advocacy. Sign up on their mailing list for more information on exact times, location, and workshop details! You can sign up to teach a workshop on their website or send an email if you are interested in volunteering!
[Community Initiated Events]
Here’s an event that’s been initiated by someone from the Vox community that we would like you to know about.
1. Women’s Sunday Morning Bible Study
If you are interested in exploring the Bible and are a woman, this Sunday Pre-Vox gathering if for you!! Come to 4609 Ledesma Road if you’re interested or email Libby for more info.
[BYOM – Bring Your Own Mug]
Because food is such a great catalyst for community, we plan to have delectable edibles and drinkables available every Sunday morning during our liturgies. Although it would be easy to buy disposable cups for the drinks, we want to be an environmentally conscious community and ask that everyone bring their own mug. This way, you’ll not only feel more at home, but we can all do our part in reducing unnecessary waste.
[Rides to Vox]
If you live on campus and are in need of a ride on Sunday morning to join us for Liturgy, please email us and we’ll hook you up. If you could send an email by 11pm on Friday, that would be greatly appreciated.
