Liturgy Reflection & Benediction 05.24.09

Liturgy
Father in heaven,
make your love the foundation of our lives.

May our love for you
express itself in eagerness to do good for others.

Through the intercession of Jesus Christ, your Son,
by his example, give us courage.

By his teachings, make us wise,
so that we, like him,
may burn with compassion and mercy,
living humbly and learning to serve all in our community.

We pray in Jesus Christ’s name,
who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit
One God, forever and ever. Amen

Reflection
What steps are you taking so you can know God better?

What are some choices and changes that you keep putting off?

What are some things that you need to get rid of in your life?

What are some ways we can live out courage together as a community?

Benediction
God, who journeyed with all the disciples,
may we also be:

transformed by encountering Christ;
committed to love and be loved;
passionate about your mercy to all;
tenacious in trials and adversity;
sowers of seeds that bring a harvest of joy.

God, who journeys with us
to wherever our paths may lead:

keep us safe in your care;
nourish us on our way;
take from us all that holds us back
from loving our neighbors;
bring us with all your saints to the
joy of your kingdom here on Earth.

We pray in the name of the
Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Go and live the church.
