Liturgy Reflection & Benediction 04.05.09

Liturgy
May this Lenten season be for us
A time of learning to look,
A time of learning to recognize the complex roots of injustice,
To recognize the Gethsemanes in our community.

May Lent be for us
A time of learning to become an Easter people,
A time of learning to recognize the deep roots of compassion,
To recognize we are called
To announce the hope of your Son’s resurrection.

We gather as a community today
To give thanks and to reflect on your teachings.
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, amen.

Reflection
What helps you remember Christ’s sacrifice?

What might spiritual spring cleaning look like?

How do you feel about the bitterness and suffering of life?

Thank God for hope and ask for constant reminders
of hope this week.

Benediction
We go, committed to care for one another
as you have cradled us in your love.

We leave, confident in your mercy
and courageous in our role within the city,
inspiring human souls,

that at the dawn of your grace,
our youthful lives
will be spent to love and serve you,
in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Go in peace and live the church.
