Liturgy
O Lord who is greater
than the most powerful forces in this world,
enable us to be still and know that you are God.
O Father, who answers out of the whirlwind of everyday life,
breathe in us your Holy Spirit to strengthen, comfort,
and guide us in the midst of our storms.
O still, small voice, speak to us this hour,
that we might become bearers of your peace in our homes,
in our communities, in our world.
We pray all this in the name of the One
who can calm the raging seas.
Amen.
Congregational Prayer
Let us pray together.

Lord Jesus Christ,
who is, who was, and who is to come,
we pray for the virtue of hope,
that amidst the trials and difficulties
of this world,
we may keep our hearts fixed
upon you, who reigns over the world.
Lord Jesus Christ,
who is, who was, and who is to come,
open our eyes to see this world
that we may know the places where you are needed.
May your grace enliven us,
strengthen us,
and defend us,
as we learn to live graciously
as your people and your church.
In the name of the Father, the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit, amen.
Reflection
Who or what memory of pain and hopelessness come to mind today?
Take a moment to reflect … and if ready, bring it before God.
How do we bring hope to those around us who are dealing with the aftermath of consequence?
What might stepping into the unknown look like for you?
Why does choosing grace seem so much harder than choosing to give up our pain?
Benediction
May the almighty and merciful Lord direct us on our journey;
May He make it prosper and maintain us in peace,
that we share his generous love and mercy to all along our path.
May the Holy Spirit intercede and accompany us on the way,
that we live our lives to serve as Christ served all
and breathe peace, joy and health into our homes and neighborhoods.
We go forth in the name of the Father, Son
and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
