Liturgy Reflection & Benediction 10.30.2016

Liturgy

Boundless God, help us to see the world
differently— not with our own limited vision
but with the gaze of love and justice.

Give us hope that we can change what the
world says is impossible; and when we lose
sight of the power of love to change the world,
increase our faith.

God of justice, peace and righteousness,
be in our midst this morning.

Breathe your breath,
your Spirit of prophecy,
your energy,
your enlivening,
your imagination on us.

We ask in the name
of the Father,
of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Community Confession

You were accused, Good Teacher.
You ate with sinners.
You touched the unclean.
You offended the decent.

We thought you came to bless us, but you
dwelt with those we do not understand, with
those we do not trust, with those we fear.

Forgive us, Jesus, turn our fear into courage.
Turn our condemnation into compassion.
Turn our blindness into gracious love.

Forgive us, Jesus, and make us new,
Teach us to love as you love,
Teach us to see as you see.

We ask in the name
Of the Father,
Of the Son,
And of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Sermon and Reflection

Sermon Podcast 10.30.16 – What to Love

What am I being invited to love today?
What am I being invited to ignore today?

Benediction

May Christ dwell in our hearts through faith—
that we, being rooted and grounded in love,
may have strength to comprehend with all
the saints what is the breadth and length
and height and depth of Christ’s love.

May this love that surpasses knowledge,
fill us with all the fullness of God.

Let us leave here, loving and serving
in the name of the Father,
of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Go in peace and live the church.
See you throughout the week.
