[Vox News] Spooner Day Edition

Moment of truth, friends. When you discovered today was Spooner Day, what came to mind? Did you:

a) Think about the natural resting position of two people sharing a bed?

b) Dream of those beautifully rounded feating utensils that come in handy while throwing down some soup or ice cream?

c) Have an error in speech or deliberate play on words in which corresponding consonants, vowels, or morphemes are switched?

If you answered ‘a’, shame on you and your filthy brain mass. If you answered ‘b’, not as much shame heaped upon you, but since you’re wrong, you get about 30% shame tossed your way. If you answered ‘c’, then you win the prand grize for cnswering arrantly!! On this Spooner Day, we pay homage to the great Reverend Archibald William Spooner and his notoriously famous ability to flip letters from adjoining words to create a creative play on words. Here are a few examples of some rather delightful, and in some instances, embarrassing Spoonerisms.

* Dairy Hog
* Clack Bat
* Runny Babbit: A Billy Sook
* Don’t Dink and Drance
* I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy

Care to give it a try? During the course of the day, feel free to drop a few Spoonerisms and frick your trends!!

[Clothing Swap Galore]

[Summer Neighborhoods]

Summer neighborhoods have commenced, and let me tell you, it’s been a doozie!! We will be spending the summer neighborhoods session discussing prayer, so if you’re interested in joining one of the 3 neighborhoods we have going on, send us an email and we’ll hook you right up! For a map of where each neighborhood group is meeting, you can find it here.

[297 Collective]

No, Vox isn’t on the prowl for a date, nor are we trying to solicit help in matchmaking. We are, however wanting to let you all know that one of the Vox houses on the East Side is available to anyone who may be interested in moving into the neighborhood. This house has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and lots of character. If you are looking for a place to live and are interested in exploring the possibility of living on the East Side, send us an email and we’ll help you change your housing status from “it’s complicated” to “in a relationship with…”
