[Vox News] National Cheesecake Day Edition

Käsekuchen. Gâteau au Fromage. Branza.

No matter your language of choice, Cheesecake is totally off the heezy fo sheezy!! Of course, there will always be a debate as to where you should go for the world’s best slice of cheesy goodness, but no matter how you slice it, Cheesecake has got to be one of the best creations to ever come out of an oven. I mean, are there any other delectably delicious dessert we devour that majestically combines the trinity of the creaminess of cheese, the sweetness of sugar, and the crispiness of a graham cracker crust? That’s right. Cheesecake sits on a throne which rules all other citizens of the culinary society.

[Sunday Liturgy]
Our Sunday Liturgy is at 11:00 AM at Space 12 (3121 East 12th Street). Join us as we continue our journey through the church calendar known fondly around the world as the Lectionary.

[Lunching Together]
Immediately after this Sunday’s liturgy, lunch will be available for $5 per person. If you’re interested in joining us for lunch, there will be a sign up during the snack break, so please make your way to the computers to put your name down.

[Summer Hoods]
This summer, our neighborhood groups will be meeting by life stage on different days.

Students/Professionals – Tuesdays @ 7pm
Marrieds – Wednesday @ 7pm
Families – Saturday @ 11am

Feel free to plug into the appropriate group during the week and get a chance to talk and interact with people who are dealing with similar challenges. Email us for more info or check out our map for locations of each group.

[Ex:Change]
Last year, we held our first ever yard sale at Space12 called Ex:Change. We had lots of people from the neighborhood come out to buy things that were donated by the community as well as eat some great BBQ. This year, we plan on doing it again on August 29th, where all proceeds will be going towards a computer learning center at Space12. A storage unit has been delivered to Space12 that will hold all donated items, so if you have any toys, clothes, furniture, appliances or electronics that are in good working condition, we’d love for you to donate it towards Ex:Change. For all drop offs of items, please bring it to Space12 during the following times:

Tuesday-Friday: 12pm-6pm
Sunday: Before and after Vox
Or by appointment: (please email Stephen)

If you have any questions, please contact Stephen To.

[Calling All Drivers!!]
One of our own, Becky Hwang, has been getting rides every Sunday to join us for our Liturgy. We are in the process of trying to find more people to help pick her up from her trailer and bring her to Space 12. If you have a car and are willing to serve Becky by picking her up in the morning, please send an email to Emily, our Local Partnerships coordinator.

[Won’t You Be My Friend?]
Hi, my name is Vox Veniae. I’m 3 years old, very friendly, and housebroken. I would like to be friends with you!! I promise to not Zombie bite you, nor will I ask you to join my kingdom. I just want to be your friend because that will make me happy. To add me as your friend, click here.

[BYOM – Bring Your Own Mug]
Because food is such a great catalyst for community, we plan to have delectable edibles and drinkables available every Sunday morning during our liturgies. Although it would be easy to buy disposable cups for the drinks, we want to be an environmentally conscious community and ask that everyone bring their own mug. This way, you’ll not only feel more at home, but we can all do our part in reducing unnecessary waste.

[Rides to Vox]
If you live on campus and are in need of a ride on Sunday morning to join us for Liturgy, please email us and we’ll hook you up. If you could send an email by 11pm on Friday, that would be greatly appreciated.
