Liturgy Reflection & Benediction 07.05.09

Liturgy
We believe that God creates all things,
renews all things, and holds all things in love.

We believe Earth is a sacred place
filled with God’s presence,
a home for all its creatures to share.

We believe that God became a man of Earth,
Jesus Christ, who lived and breathed among us,

suffered and died on a cross,
for all human beings and for all creation,
and rose again to fill all things.

We believe the Spirit renews life in the world,
groans together with every suffering creature,
and waits with us
for the whole universe to be reborn.

We believe that like Jesus Christ,
we will live as a message of God’s grace
that all may be reconciled, restored, and renewed.

We believe in the name of the Father,
the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Reflection
Think back to the last time someone extended hospitality to you. How did it feel?

If hospitality is a barameter for faith, how has your hospitality been this past week?

Who are some people in your life you need to extend hospitality to?

As we celebrate hospitality through communion, what are some ways we can extend hospitality to others?

Benediction
We go now, secure in the love of God
from which nothing can separate us.
We delight in seeking the Lord –
looking always for the power and the presence of God,
letting love permeate all that we do.

May God work for good in all things through us;
May Christ Jesus conform us in the image of his love;
And may the Holy Spirit help us in our weakness,
interceding for us, and in us, according to the will of God.

In peace, may we live in our city to love and serve the Lord,
in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Go and live the church, and see you during the week.
