Liturgy Reflection & Benediction 6.20.10

Liturgy

Lord our God,
You who are the source of all life
Let us joyfully praise you:
Let us worship you for the gift of Jesus, your Son,
Who came to earth, that before the open heavens,
This earth might direct its hopes and plans towards you.

Let us acclaim you for the salvation
that your Son offers to all humanity.
Let us honor you for the gift of the Spirit
through whom you renew the universe.

Let us praise you when our churches,
our communities and congregations
draw from you the strength to break through
the barriers of death and division.

Let us praise you when our world is able,
through your assembled people,
to find reason still to hope in Christ our Lord.

in the name of the you, the Father,
the Son,
and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Congregational Prayer

Praise be to you, O God the Father:
You created all things by your power and wisdom
and so loved the world
that you gave your Son to be our Savior.

Praise be to you, O God the Son:
You became human like us in all things, except sin,
died for our offenses, and rose again for our justification.

Praise be to you, O God the Holy Spirit:
You lead us into all truth
and spread the love of God in our hearts
We often don’t see you and accept you for who you are.
We forget you, neglect your word
or mold you into something less than you are.

Forgive us Lord.
Help us to see you and to know you more fully.
Fill us with the vision of your glory,
that we may always serve and praise you.
Amen

Reflection

What are the barriers keeping you from moving forward in your journey with Christ?

Who do you have a hard time accepting into Christ’s family?

Who do you have a hard time accepting into Vox? Pray that God would be able to help you welcome this person in …

Benediction

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts,
since as members of one body you were called to peace.
And be thankful.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly;
teach and admonish one another in all wisdom;
and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms
and hymns, and spiritual songs to God.

And whatever you do, in word or deed,
do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him (Col. 3:15-17).

Go in peace and live the church.
See you throughout the week.
