Liturgy Reflection & Benediction 06.14.09

Liturgy
Living God
your story of our salvation
began with your world’s beginning.

We thank you that you’ve
invited us to be a part of that story today.

Disciples have come before us
and will come after us,
and you choose to use us all
in loving the city and the world around us.

We thank you for brothers and sisters
in other communities here …

people with hope and vision,
people with questions and concerns,
people searching for truth,
longing for healing,
working for peace.

In all we do
keep us attentive to their needs,
and remind us with how you are
already working within them.

Help us in all our connections
to deepen true friendship
and welcome strangers
as we journey on together.

We ask all this in the name of the Father,
Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Reflection
What does the eucharist mean to you?

How can communion be a means to fuel you to live the church?

In what ways can we celebrate communion as a community throughout the week?

Benediction
May the almighty and merciful Lord direct us on our journey;
May He make it prosper and maintain us in peace,
that we share his generous love and mercy to all along our path.

May the Holy Spirit intercede and accompany us on the way,
that we live our lives to serve as Christ served all
and breathe peace, joy and health into our homes and neighborhoods,

We go forth in the name of the Father, Son
and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Go and live the church. See you throughout the week.
