Ex:change @ Space12

Ex:change is a project started by UT students living in West Campus. Every year, we see perfectly good furniture sitting by dumpsters when we move out. Big dorms, like Jester, have systems set up to donate their unneeded goods to Goodwill; West Campus, however, doesn’t have that option. This is where the idea Ex:change came in. A bunch of us thought that if we set up a drop point for unwanted furniture/clothes and spread the word, we could cut down on waste and bring the donations to people who could use it.

The furniture and clothing donated to Ex:change will be accepted at Space12. All profits from the sale will go towards creating a computer lab in Space12 for neighborhood use and computer workshops.

Check out more details on facebook.

What are you looking for?
Slightly used furniture and clothing. Examples of furniture would be couches, coffee table, bookshelves, and bookcases. We can’t accept mattresses, sorry. An example of clothing would be shirts, pants, or jackets. No socks or undergarments. Additionally, please make sure all furniture and clothes are undamaged and in good condition.

When is this?
The actual event takes place on August 29. (9:00am-3:00pm). We can arrange for pick up of furniture and other goods upon request by emailing us. We are more than happy to come and pick up your item.

Where and when do I drop off my stuff?
You can drop off your furniture inside the storage unit located at:

Space 12
3121 E. 12th Street
Austin, TX 78702

Tuesday-Friday between 12PM-6PM and Sunday 11AM-1PM. Look for the Ex:change banner!

Is everyone allowed to buy stuff from the garage sale?
The main goal in Ex:change is to transfer goods to communities that can use it. While, everyone is welcome to come by, we ask you to consider that some folks may need it more.

Where can I make a donation out to?
Thanks for offering, but we’d rather have your help or excess stuff. If you have some time to donate, please contact Stephen. We’d really appreciate all the help we can get. =)
