Liturgy Reflection & Benediction 05.21.2017

Liturgy

How easily we retreat into ourselves.
This week, it was a slight.
This week, it was terrible news.
This week, it was a paycheck.
How easily we retreat into ourselves.

How quickly we lose sight of your love.
This year, it has been family.
This year, it has been work.
This year, it has been addiction.
How quickly we lose sight of Your love.

How deeply we are loved.
Today, we see it in the rain.
Today, we see it in small kindnesses.
Today, we see it everyone around us.
How deeply we are loved.

Let us be thankful and worship
In the name of the Father,
The Risen Son,
And the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Community Confession

God, our hearts are restless, but we
try to quiet them with anything but you.

Lord, you desire to lead us, but we
insist upon finding our own way.

Christ, your love is a beacon, but we
can not see fit to simply follow its call.

Spirit, your light pulls us toward grace,
But our willfulness anchors us in darkness.

Triune God, you model community for us. Give us
power to live in the hope of resurrected love.

We ask in the name
of the Father,
of the Risen Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Sermon and Reflection

Sermon Podcast 05.21.17 – Community

What would it look like to participate in sharing your beauty in community?
Who’s a safe person you can share a face plant story with this week?

Benediction

Now, may our God and Father, and
our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our
paths toward one another,

and may the Lord make us increase and abound
in love for one another and for all, so that he may
establish our hearts in blameless holiness at the
coming of our Lord Jesus.

We pray in the name
of the Father,
of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Go in peace and live the church.
See you throughout the week.
