Liturgy Reflection & Benediction 09.27.2015

Liturgy

In the beginning God created all things,
and God saw that they were good.

At our beginning, God created us unique
and irreplaceable, loved and wanted by
God, known and treasured by God
even before he created us.

In all our new beginnings, God creates
something new so we will seek God
in the freshness of this morning,

in the laughter of friends,
in the colors of creation,
and in this beautiful place.

Lord God, King of Creation, open our
eyes to see your presence, our souls to
sense your presence, and our hearts to
love your presence, ever here in your
creation, and ever beyond it in eternity.

We pray and worship
in the name of the Father,
of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit,
Amen.

Community Confession

Oh God of all, how often have we heard the
good news of forgiveness and restoration?
Yet, we are still reluctant to believe.

You offer us new life, yet we are still afraid to
let go of the old. We admit our doubts and
fears to the One who waits to make us whole.

We use a lot of words, Gracious God, but do
little to turn them into deeds. Instead of being
of one heart and soul, we choose sides and
form groups of folks just like us.

Blessed with great grace, we have trouble
sharing it with those who need it the most.

Forgive us, God of love. Forgive us,
as we step out of our shadows into
your light. Restore us, as we reveal
our brokenness.

Hear us, as we proclaim Jesus Christ
as our Lord and our God in community,
holy in One. Amen.

Sermon and Reflection

Sermon Podcast 9.27.15 – Repentence

In what ways can you give up judgement of yourself and others?
How can you bring your full self into God’s loving light?
What does a conversation on healing and repentance look like this coming week?

Benediction

Go now, sent by the one
who was sent by God.

Walk in the light; testify to
the resurrection of Christ;
forgive the sins of all, and live
at peace with one another.

And may God bless you with life forever;
May Christ Jesus breathe his Spirit and
peace into you; and may the Holy Spirit
lead you into the life and light of God.

Depart from here,
serving in the name
of the Father,
of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Go in peace and live the church.
See you throughout the week.
