Fall Retreat 10.24 – 10.26

The Collaborative Body: In a wikipedia world of decentralization, how do we continue to empower each members of our Vox body? Theologically, what are the implications of Jesus’ body for our body?  What does Jesus being human mean for us as humans and communities? Join us for a weekend of conversation and designing collaboration.

Cherith Fee Nordling.  In the Spring of 2013, Gideon was at a conference where Cherith took the stage. She started speaking on “embodied theology”, the unique Christian proposition that God became flesh, and has a plan to redeem and restore our flesh. One session and two workshops later Gideon asked if she would be willing to prayerfully consider being with a ragtag community called Vox for a weekend. And she said yes!

Cherith Fee Nordling earned her PhD from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. She has written Knowing and Naming the Triune God: Elizabeth Johnson and Karl Barth in Conversation and she is one of the authors of Pocket Dictionary of Theological Terms. She is now a Professor of Theology at Northern Seminary.
