[Vox News] Becky H. Birthday Bonanza Edition

If you’ve ever gone on a stroll by the CVS on the drag looking for fresh flowers, joined us for any of our liturgies these past 6 years, or stopped by Space 12 during the day, then you have most probably met our resident meteorologist known fondly as Becky. Sure, anybody can whip out their mobile device and see some hack giving you a 10 day forecast, but I implore you to rely on a better source for your data. Go ahead, the next time you see Becky, ask her for a forecast of the upcoming week weather and you will not only get totally accurate data, but be floored by her passion for the craft. While you’re at it, feel free to wish her a ‘Happy Birthday’ as she celebrates another year of life lived here in this delightful city we call Austin. And if you’re super extra keen, bring in a birthday card for her and prepare yourself for one of the teethiest yet sincere smiles you’ll ever lay your eyes on.

[Benefit Lunch This Sunday]

Though not many Vox people knew him, with great sadness we say goodbye to the uncle of one of our own, as well as someone who was a good friend to many people who live on the East side, as well as the uncle of one of our own. This Sunday immediately following liturgy, there will be a benefit dinner for Danny Bonilla who passed away a few days ago. The money raised from the benefit lunch will be going towards helping the family with the astronomical funeral costs. If you have any questions, feel free to send them to Melinda.

[Summer Neighborhoods]

Summer neighborhoods have commenced, and let me tell you, it’s been a doozie!! We will be spending the summer neighborhoods session discussing prayer, so if you’re interested in joining one of the 3 neighborhoods we have going on, send us an email and we’ll hook you right up! For a map of where each neighborhood group is meeting, you can find it here.

[Need A Shot Of Cuteness?]

The kindness and generosity that has come to define people from Vox apparently extends beyond caring for humans and institutions. Recently, a few kittens were rescued from what looked to be imminent death by a couple of kind hearted animal lovers from Vox. But this litter of kitties need homes, so if you’re sick of looking at yourself in the mirror and weeping profusely because you think you’re just not cute enough, perhaps a new kitty will be like robitussin to a nagging cough: just what the doctor ordered. For more details on how to get your mitts on these cute little kitty kats, check out the “tail” end of this message.

[Generosity Report – June]

Through your unswerving kindness and generous giving, this community has been tremendously blessed by your faithfulness and sacrificial living. For the details of June’s giving, you can download the report here. If you have any questions please email our treasurer.

[297 Collective]

No, Vox isn’t on the prowl for a date, nor are we trying to solicit help in matchmaking. We are, however wanting to let you all know that one of the Vox houses on the East Side is available to anyone who may be interested in moving into the neighborhood. This house has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and lots of character. If you are looking for a place to live and are interested in exploring the possibility of living on the East Side, send us an email and we’ll help you change your housing status from “it’s complicated” to “in a relationship with…”
