Liturgy Reflection & Benediction 09.24.2017

Liturgy

I thank You God for most this amazing
day: for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes

(I who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun’s birthday; this is the birth
day of life and of love and wings: and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)

How should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any—lifted from the no
of all nothing—human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?

(Now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

Community Confession

Beloved God of hope and beauty,
teach us how to create, how to move
past the grim pictures in our minds
so that we see your vision in full color.

Give us open hearts and minds,
so that we can appreciate this
world as your lovely creation.
May we see those around us
as part of your creation and
recognize your image in them.

We live with blinders and burdens.
We take our pain out on others.
We get fixated in anger
and stuck in resentment.

Free us of our burdens,
show us how to let go of our anger,
so we can live freely and creatively.

When we take the bread and wine,
may we experience your
sacred reordering of life.
May we taste and feel your presence,
which centers us and makes us whole.

In the name of God, the Creator,
Christ, the Risen One,
and the Holy Spirit, the Breath of Life.
Amen.

Sermon and Reflection

Sermon Podcast 09.24.17 – Liturgy: Eucharist

What do we do in exchange for our worthiness?
How can we be ambassadors of a God who doesn’t count sins?

Benediction

Vox family, you come here to experience
God’s complete and perfect grace. It’s yours.
It’s truly yours. You are loved and you are liked.

God is turning an upside-down
world right-side up. Because of
this grace, we have a role to play
in that turning. May this grace be
a catalyst that lights a fire in you.

Watch the old burn away.

Take that grace with you.
See something new.
Take it to your jobs, your schools,
your neighborhoods, and
your homes. Let’s fill this city
that we love with that grace.

In the name of God, the Creator,
Christ, the Risen One,
and the Holy Spirit, the Breath of Life.
Amen.

Go in peace and live the church.
See you throughout the week.
