The table of Jesus is our place of gathering.
Here, you are welcomed, wanted, loved.
Here, there is a place set for you.
So come all you who are hungry,
all you who hunger for the bread of life,
all you whose souls cry out for healing.
Come all you who are weary, all you who
are bowed down with worry, all you who
ache with the tiredness of living.
Come all you poor, all you who are
without food or refuge, all you who
go hungry in a fat land.
Come all you who are lost, all you who
search for meaning but can not find it,
all you who have no place of belonging.
Jesus invites you, draw near with faith.
Receive this invitation from the one who is
the Son of the Most High, and worship in
your hearts with faith and thanksgiving.
We do this in the name
of the Father,
of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit,
Our Father, Lord of Peace,
We long for your unity;
we need to see your
Our Father, God of Comfort,
With weak hands, we lift our
heavy hearts to you today.
Our sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart you, God,
will not despise.
We admit to you that we have stood in judgment
of our neighbors, of each other, and of strangers,
while ignoring the condition of our own hearts.
Have mercy on us, dear God.
Draw us near, Divine Father,
Teach us your way, Blessed Son
Flood our hearts, and our minds, Holy Spirit.
We pray to you,
our God in community,
Holy in One.
Sermon and Reflection
How am I being invited into my strength with Christ, to engage my privileges, in small/sustainable ways, and stand with those who have less voice, power and safety?
How am I being invited into my frailty with Christ, to make room for God to care for my wounds and the weight of all the stories of pain I carry in my body?
Go now, remembering that God’s
final Word has been spoken, and
his Word is the light of all humanity.
The light has shone in the darkness,
and the darkness has not overcome it.
Remember God’s promise to you,
and live in light of this promise, as
a radiant being, illuminated by love.
Shine your light, not drawing attention
to your own wisdom, but drawing all
of creation back to it’s Creator.
Do this with the confidence,
that God will stand for you,
even when you feel powerless—
especially when you feel powerless.
Glory to the name
of the Father,
of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Go in peace and live the church.
See you throughout the week.
