Liturgy Reflection & Benediction 04.12.09

Liturgy
Christ Jesus, you hung upon a cross and died for us
so that we might live for you

Your body broken and your blood shed
so that we might be healed and made whole

You were faithful unto death
so that we might be faithful unto life

Your last command was that we might love one another,
One family together from every tribe and nation

A new creation united through your sacrifice,
Redeemed by your blood,
Healed by your love,
United by your covenant of peace,

In your death may we find life.
we are here to remember you and your love for us

in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Reflection
What does good faith look like?

What do you need in life? How is God connected to or
a source of those needs?

When faith gets hard or confusing, who can you talk to
or pray with?

How does reason connect with passion in your faith?

Benediction
We will go forth with renewed hope,
Trusting in your redeeming love, oh God.

You do not leave things as they are;
With you, all things are made new.

We open ourselves to this truth;
With Christ, we trust our whole lives to his power.

Nothing is beyond the reach of you, our God;
Neither evil, nor hardship, nor death.

Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed, and
we will let ourselves be overtaken by God’s love.

We will pour it back out into our city
all in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Go in peace and live the church.
