E’s Departure Letter 7.21.10

Dear Vox,

[NOTE: As you read this I am on the plane jamming some peaceful tunes and finally resting between a long and arduous few weeks and a longer and more arduous couple years. Please pray that I will be able to soak in the eye of the storm so I can be totally open and loving when I set foot in K-Town.]

I have loved every moment of being a part of you. Saying goodbye to you, the community that changed my life over the past half-decade, was not easy.

I just want to encourage you to keep doing what you’re doing. You taught me how to love and how to really enjoy life and all it has to offer — how to innocently and with wonder marvel at the way God fulfills and challenges us all the time.

Love each other and see the beauty in everything in the world, especially in hardship. Learn to let go and be here now, loving each thing as God brings it across your path. Play, and learn the rules later. Don’t be afraid. God will rescue you, again and again, forever.

I can’t wait to be back with you.

Your brother,
E
