In the summer of 2007, the decision to relocate to the East Side of Austin slowly moved from being seemingly daunting and insurmountable to becoming what is now our current reality. With the help of generous investors and courageous pioneers, Project 297 was born, whose purpose was to provide a place for mission and community to happen in the context of being a good neighbor.

With 1 year under our belt, we are still actively discovering our voice in the community, as well as refining and redefining our expression of purpose. Although our name has changed from Project 297 to The 297 Collective, the desire of being a good neighbor has remained the same. Through the expression of simplicity, redistribution and communal living, we are continuing on our journey in discovering what it means to live the church.

To some, this sounds overly romantic and wildly idealistic, but we believe it is an image of missional living worth pursuing. If you would like to learn more about The 297 Collective, please send an email to 297collective@voxveniae.com and we would love to embark on a dialogue together.
